“I need to settle a customer (or vendor) transaction but when I go to the ‘Settle open transactions’ form for the customer (or vendor), I cannot mark the transaction. There is a red icon in the ‘Is marked’ field and I receive an error if I try to mark. I’ve looked all over and I cannot find where to unmark it." Solution When this happens, the user has generally already done their due diligence and checked the likely places to find where the transaction may be marked – in other journals of the same type, in the Settle open transactions form, etc. and still cannot find where it is mysteriously marked. To find where the transaction is marked, take the following steps: 1. Go to Accounts receivable-> Common-> Customers-> All customers-> highlight customer-> Collect tab-> Settle open transactions (similar path for Vendor transactions). How to re-create fiscal periods in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Note   Before you follow the instructions, make sure that you maintain transaction history and that you have maintained transaction history in the past. If you have not maintained transaction history and you run a reconcile, the summary information may be lost. During a reconcile, the summary information is reconciled to the detail transaction information. If there is no detail for the summary with which to reconcile and you continue with the reconcile, any summary information that you had will be lost. The only way to restore information is from a backup. We recommend that you have a valid backup before you re-create fiscal periods or before you continue with the reconcile.  Note  When you re-create fiscal periods, the period description is reset.
